Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Officers then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.
City officials said they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for information.
An important representative said the incident made him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
